The California Asphalt Pavement Association (CalAPA) was founded in 1953 in Los Angeles, and since then has grown to represent hot mix asphalt producers, refiners, paving contractors, testing labs, equipment manufacturers, suppliers, engineering firms and other companies that make up the industry in California. CalAPA is a 501(c)6 non-profit trade association. Over the years the industry has grown to match the ambitions of the Golden State, ensuring that California has a safe and well-maintained network of freeways, highways, streets, parking lots, airfields, reservoirs and other infrastructure that is vital to the state's economy and quality of life. CalAPA has earned a reputation as the voice of the asphalt pavement industry in California with elected officials, public agency personnel, regulators and others.
